Making a note on the self-rising flour tip... too many times I've tried to swap out the DIY kind in a recipe that calls for it, and just doesn't work well. Time to seek it out & keep some on hand!

Never forget this formula: Equal parts (by weight) heavy cream and self-rising flour = biscuits.

Plus most American brands of self-rising flour are very low protein, so you get ultra tender biscuits and cakes.
