Great post although I secretly want to keep this area a bit off the radar as it’s becoming more infiltrated (direct flights to TC from LGA 😱). We are up there often and in fact just returned from a week on Little Traverse lake. It’s one of my favorite spots in the entire country. Wanted to mention The Mill in Glen Arbor as well. Recently restored 19th century mill on Crystal River… Has a lovely café where you can sit riverside and new restaurant that’s doing their best to serve high end local wines and cuisine

I 100% agree with you. But there's no hiding the beauty. At least the harsh winters and relative remoteness keep it from being completely overrun. The Mill was on my list for this trip, but I ran out of time (and meals!). Next time!

One of the best places on earth. I’m rarely without American Spoon Foods from home here in my cupboard in Italy.

As someone who lives in Washington and eats gobs of Rainier cherries, I was fascinated that Michigan is world’s cherry capital! Haven’t yet ventured out that way but it sounds like a beautiful place!

It's gorgeous. They grow spectacular sweet cherries up there, but it's the tart cherries that shine--destined for pie!

I’m living vicariously through you! I’ve always wanted to visit TC and need to make it happen before too long.
